Fayose at it Again! Published on March 8th, 2010

We wish to draw the attention of the general public to the latest attention seeking sinister plot of the disgraced former Governor Ayodele Fayose.
This afternoon, Fayose came up with a spurious allegation that the
Governor Segun Oni-led Government was responsible for the fire incident that
occurred in his party office. It should be stated unequivocally that Governor
Oni is not a violent person and that is known to everyone, including Fayose
himself.
It is an incontrovertible fact that that political jester called Ayodele
Fayose is synonymous with fire incidences. It was immediately he became governor
in 2003 that Ado-Ekiti, started witnessing fire outbreak. Fayose was always the
first person to get to the scenes of the fire incidents. But immediately the two
fire engines that Fayose desperately wanted to sell to the State Government were
bought, the fire outbreak stopped!
Again, when he returned from the political prison that he placed himself
while running from the shadows of the criminal acts that made him run away from
the government house, bundling himself in the booth of a car, Fayose set a water
tanker on fire just to get attention.
We are therefore not bothered by the latest antics of this political
fugitive because we are not in his league. We are not in the league of a
character, who ruled Ekiti State like a fiefdom, killing, maiming, blackmailing,
brutalizing and assaulting all those he perceived as his political opponents.
It is even interesting that Fayose is the one shouting about burning of
his party office by the government. The same Fayose that personally led several
unprovoked attacks on opposition party members when he was governor? Or does he
think Ekiti people have forgotten the murder of Tunde Omojola, destruction of
cars belonging to Alliance for Democracy (AD) members at Mugbagba,
Ado-Ekiti on May 28, 2005, murder of Dr. Ayo Daramola, attempted murder of Taiye
Fasubaa, demolition of Senator Bode Olowoporoku’s house in Ado-Ekiti, setting
Chief Idowu Odeyemi’s car on fire and several other acts of political
intolerance he perpetrated while in government?
This man should just face the various criminal charges hanging on his neck
and stop running from pillar to post in search of an elusive political
relevance.
Let it also be remembered that Fayose said last week that many campaign
innovations should be expected from him, and this one is definitely one of them.
