There are strong indications that Nigeria ailing President, Mr. Umaru Musa Yar’Adua may have ceded presidential powers to his number two man, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan to carry on in acting capacity.

The country’s Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Mr. Michael Kaase Aondoakaa was said to have let the cat out of bag during an unscheduled private visit to the office of the Director General of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mrs. Remi Oyo on Thursday.

Chief Aondoakaa reportedly said during the visit that President Yar’Adua has finally instructed V.P. Jonathan to assume acting presidential powers pending the time that the gravely ill president would recuperate and strong enough to return to office.
