Oni Commiserates With Adebayo Over Son’s Death Published on January 25th, 2010
Ekiti State Governor, Engr. Segun Oni has commiserated with the first Chief of Staff of the Nigerian Army and former Governor of the old Western Region, General Adeyinka Adebayo (Rtd.) over the death of his son, Dr. Adebayo Adebayo, describing the death as shocking, painful and a great loss to Ekiti State.
Governor Oni, who expressed his grief over the death of Dr. Adebayo through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Wale Ojo-Lanre said the death was a stroke too grievous to bear, adding that; “Dr. Adebayo’s sudden death has depleted the intellectual bank of Ekiti State.
The governor, who described the late Adebayo as “one of the live embers, which make Ekiti the cynosure of all eyes” said his untimely death, was not only a tragedy for the great and respected General Adeyinka Adebayo’s family of Iyin Ekiti but a tragic loss to all Ekiti indigenes.
While urging General Adebayo to take solace in God, who the only giver and taker of live, Governor Oni said; “We share this moment of grief with our respected father, General Adeyinka Adebayo.
“In a moment like this, it is only God that can console the Adebayo family on the death of ‘such a brilliant, quiet, intelligent and suave medical doctor’ and the prayer of the entire people of Ekiti is that God in His infinite mercies will condole General Adebayo and his entire family.
“On behalf of my family, Government and people of Ekiti State, I express our heartfelt condolence for the loss of such an amiable young man and wish our father, General Adebayo and his entire family the continued support and guidance of the Almighty God.”
