Yar' Adua Speaks Published on January 12th, 2010

President Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua has spoken up on his long absence from Nigeria ahead of Tuesday’s massive rally being organized by coalition of Human Rights Activists and leading politicians. Choosing the medium of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), President Yar’ Adua delivered a blow on some online and local news outlets that “authoritatively” reported that he is dead.

In the interview that lasted one minute, Yar’ Adua said that he is alive and recuperating and that once he is certified as having tremendously improved, he will be back in Nigeria to resume duty. He also expressed satisfaction on the good job being done by the Vice President, Goodluck Jonathan.

He spoke in a measured tone, his words showed a palpably frail and sick individual.
